The making of the Ferrari P4/5
Momentum is building for this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. One vehicle that has garnered a veritable ton of media coverage is James Glickenhaus' Pininfarina-designed Ferrari P4/5. Although the design has caused it's share of controversy, the rebodied Enzo's debut in Monterey is guaranteed to be one of, if not the, show stopper of the weekend.
We have already covered the P4/5 creation in detail, but Autoblog reader Richard sent us this link to a picture gallery of the bespoke machine in various states of production.

A much better looking car than the Ferrari Enzo. I especially like the vented aft window over the engine - it reminds one of the F40.

UNBELIEVABLE. Imagine seeing that going down the road. And even better, imagine owning a one of one Ferrari custom taylored for you. Thats as good as it gets.

I like some of the design touches (the outlining of the rear grill section, the exposed metal on the tail), but the bodyside lacks tension in the design and ends up looking like the equivalent of a carved up turkey rather than a the typical pininfarina knife edged masterpiece. Of course, I would kill a man to have one, but i can't deny that different doesn't always mean better.

according to Eddie apparently you can't criticize the hideously mid-90s "styling" of anything unless you personally own it. somehow i'm guessing Eddie does not own everything he has ever criticized. just a hunch.

Is J Glick looking to be on his own?
Seeing the P 4-5 at first I can say like everyone else, that it is impressive to look at, and that if it was a "true" Ferrari it would look fantastic in my paddock. But later it was brought to my attention after some persuit, it was found to be a rebodied enzo? Built because some people decided an enzo is not good enough?? This is what I am lead to believe after some investigation. Therefore before I would make a judgment on the "greatness" of such a vehicle, I would like to see the stat sheet on performance of this P 4-5 along with the wind tunnel data. Else it is an expensive kit car. Sorry Glick. Might I remind everyone that in real estate it is location, location, location... In racing it is performance, performance, performance. Or could it be More money then - - - - -'s, I forget.

A few points. Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina has been officially recognized by Ferrari.
It is lighter than an Enzo, faster to 60mph, has more downforce, more tire thus needs less TC, and has a higher top speed. It is the fastest road legal Ferrari existent.
As an aside it recently won in class at Villa d'Este.
